A highlight of the night was when Teds ticket was drawn and he won a new bike. He was all smiles as he pushed it back to the motorhome past all the cowboys. Tonight we are staying on the rodeo grounds with some of the biggest and fanciest horse trailers that I have ever seen.

Day 45
Ted woke me up at this morning to go fishing. So fishing we went! It was very windy all day so we tried a few different spots. The bugs were still bad but it didn't seem to slow the boys down. We went for a walk, fished, walked, fished and had a great day. Ned caught a pike and I caught a perch. At dinner time we packed up to head into Devils Lake to the North Dakota State Rodeo. We watched team roping, saddle bronc, steer wrestling, bull riding and a lot more. The rodeo clown had Ned and Ted laughing and dancing in their seats. There was a kids event, where all the kids in the stands got to go into the ring and try to get the ribbons of the tails of a few calves.
Day 44
Up and on the road, well down the street do get a few groceries before heading off towards Devils Lake ND. A few hours on the hwy and we pulled into Graham's island state park. What a beautiful place. The campground was almost empty so we had our pick of spots. We chose a beautiful spot lakeside right buy a dock for fishing. Ned and Ted had their lines in the water for most of the afternoon and evening. Landed two northern pikes and one small walleye. Fished well past dark, even though the bugs were unbelievable. They were so bad that mom stayed in the motorhome and read.
Day 43
Spent the morning in Winnipeg. Ned and Ted both got a much needed haircut and when we left the mall we headed south. We arrived at the border crossing about 1 pm. We were asked to pull aside so a inspector could come check out the fruits and vegetables we had with us. Everything checked out except for a piece of firewood that had bark on it. We were denied entry into the states and had to return to canada to get rid of the offending wood. We pulled a u turn and got in line for Canadian customs. We cleared customs back into Canada with ease, dropped the wood in a bin, pulled another u turn and got back inline for the second attempt to get into the states. This attempt was smoother and we were on the road again.
Drove to Grand Forks ND, to pick up some supplies to go walleye fishing, and to buy a ND fishing licence. Wasn't able to buy a licence because 200 yards before the store we crossed a small bridge and we were actually in Minnesota.
Crossed back into ND and went to a indoor splash park. Ned and Ted had a great time and we called it a night in the parking lot.

Day 42
Bacon and eggs for breakfast, then goodbye. The grandparents pulled out about 10am and we just hung out till after lunch. Ned and Ted treed a few squirrels and attempted to catch them in their nets. Ted was itching to try some fried squirrel, but we didn't know the daily bag limit. A bike ride and a last load of laundry and we were on the road towards Winnipeg.
We decided to check out AMAZIN CORN, a giant corn maze and petting farm, just outside of Winnipeg. Ned and Ted were successful in finding the way out after about 1 hr. We all enjoyed the animals, before mom headed to the motorhome, and us guys headed back into the corn after dark. What a great evening. We finished off the night with a bedtime feast of sweet corn.
Day 41
A DAY OF REST
Today we all slept in and took a break from travelling. We are at a nice campground around Lake of the Woods Ont. did some cleaning, bike riding, fishing, oil change, and a quick trip to town to pick up a few things. Ned and Ted had a chance to go swimming in the lake. We finished off the day with a nice dinner and sitting around the fire. Tomorrow grandma and grandpa plan to separate from us and head for Calgary.
